Soroptimist International was founded in 1921.
Its purpose has been to advocate for human rights and gender equality.
The organization wants to make sure that women and girls are heard whether as individuals or as a collective.
Since this is the 100th anniversary, the Kenton-Hardin County Soroptimists gathered to celebrate following a meeting and work on the latest club project.
A meeting was held at 6 p.m. on October 7 at the Walmart Grove United Methodist Church Fellowship Hall.
The group brought items for personal care kits to be distributed at local food pantries as well as for Dignity Kits to be distributed to the Hardin County School Nurses.
The Dignity Kits allow girls to attend school continually so that their learning is not compromised.
The kits will be supplied with pads and tampons by the organization whenever the nurses request them.
