A man has made it his mission to speak at every school in Ohio and beyond.
Chad Dunlap, who started Upshift, said he wants to encourage the students and in the process prevent them from becoming so discouraged they might consider suicide as an out.
Dunlap talked more about his goal, “My goal is to get people talking. We live in a world where technology has taken over, where our conversations with our kids are texts or instant messaging, and they don’t know how to properly communicate. There’s so much power in our words. We lose something when we stop talking. We start keeping things internalized and building and building, and we have to have an escape at some point.”
