Commissioners Get Hardin Hills Update; Vote to Place Two Renewal Levies on Fall Ballot

Hardin Hills Administrator Sharon Huston informed the Hardin County Commissioners at a recent meeting that the fire pump at the facility needs to be replaced. 

She noted the inspector will visit in February of 2023, and if it is not repaired or replaced it won’t pass, and she will need to start the process of closing. 

Two quotes were received.

The amounts varied depending on if they are tied into the City water.

Huston noted that she would be more comfortable if both companies came in to present the quotes to make sure nothing is missed. 

The Commissioners statd that this would be a bid project. 

They said it is good to see the quotes, but they know the amounts will change with time and final determination on tying into the City.

Also at that meeting, the Commissioners voted to place two renewal levies on the November ballot.

The renewal levies are for 9-1-1 and Council on Aging.

At the meeting, Auditor Mike Bacon certified the amounts of the levies.

The 911 renewal levy would bring in $362,430. 

The renewal levy for Council on Aging would bring in $886,670.
