The trial of Dustin Clapsaddle continued today in Hardin County Common Pleas Court.
On the witness stand is Detective Dan Kemmere, the lead detective in the investigation.
He outlined the case before jurors on Tuesday with his testimony going into the evening before breaking.
Today, Defense Attorney Rocky Ratliff is conducting the cross examination.
He replayed the initial interview the Detective conducted with the victim.
In it, she can be heard saying the alleged incident occurred in either late January or early February in her Junior year in High School, which would have been 2019.
The date that the state list it has happening is January 18.
Other discrepancies have to do with details of the alleged incident.
The state has attempted to explain that the discrepancies have to do with a passage of time.
The victim herself, while she was on the witness stand, explained that she has spent the last five years trying to forget everything and now finds it hard to remember everything.
The jury ultimately will decide this case based on the testimony of those involved.
They have already heard from the victim, and it is possible they will hear from the defendant when the defense team presents its case, which is still expected to be today.
