An injury accident occurred at the intersection of Detroit and Ohio Streets at around 4:15 Monday afternoon.

According to the report from the Kenton Police Department, 33-year-old Ronald Kwiatkowski III drove onto Detroit Street from the red flashing light on Ohio, and his car was struck by a southbound pickup truck being operated by 69-year-old John Seiler, of Kenton.

Kwiatkowski was cited for failing to yield the right of way.

Functional damage occurred to both vehicles.

A passenger in his car, 33-year-old Amanda Moser, was treated at the scene.

This is the second crash at the intersection since ODOT began a study for removal of the traffic lights.

Currently they are blinking yellow, or caution, on Detroit Street and red, or stop, on Ohio Street.

The study is also being conducted for removal of the traffic lights at the intersection of Detroit and Carrol Streets.
