A juvenile driver was arrested after a pursuit in Findlay Monday night.
According to a release from the Findlay Police department, officers provided mutual aid for the pursuit that was initiated inside the city by a Hancock County Sheriff’s deputy at around 11:15pm.
The pursuit was terminated in the area of Osborn Avenue and East Main Cross Street.
A short time later, a Findlay police officer attempted a traffic stop after observing the vehicle with its headlights off on West Sawmill Road.
The driver of the car fled and eventually reached State Route 568, turned north onto Township Road 242 and came to stop at Forest Lake Drive.
The juvenile was taken into custody and is being held at the Wood County Juvenile Detention Center on charges of failure to comply with the order or signal of a police officer, unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and no operator’s license.
A passenger was taken into custody for a curfew violation and later released to a guardian, and additional charges may be requested.
No injuries were reported as a result of the pursuit, which went nearly 12 miles and lasted 11 minutes.
