While largely an uneventful meeting two items did get passed. Ordinance 24-030 allows for an additional $78,600 to be split between the general, street, and waterworks funds as well as a transfer of funds to the tune of $9,200. $14,600 was needed to fulfill this year’s street light contract, $13,000 goes towards fire equipment maintenance, $7,000 heads to Fire & EMS annual maintenance fees, $24,000 will be used to buy new mowers that were originally planned to be purchased in 2025 but a discount was offered if purchased by October 31st, $15,000 was needed for severance pay, and $5,000 was needed as the cost of sludge removal was underestimated in the original budget.

Resolution 021-24 was introduced if passed this would allow the city to apply for TAP funding from ODOT for the 2028 phase of the ongoing North Detroit Street project.

The next meeting of Kenton city council will be held October 28th at 7PM.
