An accidental shooting occurred in the Village of Forest this afternoon.
The Jackson-Forest EMS squad was dispatched at around 2:30 this afternoon to a residence in the village.
Hardin County Sheriff Keith Everhart said an off-duty deputy was involved.
He said the shooting was not work related and the deputy’s service weapon was not used.
Sheriff Everhart said the shooting was accidental.
The deputy was transported to the hospital for treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.
