Average Gas Prices Spike Again

Another week, another sharp increase of average prices for a gallon of gasoline. According to AAA, https://gasprices.aaa.com/?state=OH, the average U.S. price is $4.54 a gallon today, which is an increase of 32 cents since last Wednesday. The Ohio average is $4.81 a gallon, an increase of 59 cents in one week. Hardin County’s average price per gallon is at $4.55 a gallon, a big increase from last week’s $4.07 a gallon. Races are set for this Fall after Tuesday’s Primary Election. On the Republican ballot for Hardin County Commissioner, Michael Kasler won in a landslide. He picked up 1442 votes. The next top vote getter was Paul Osborne with 658 votes, third was Michelle Laubis with 590 and Bob Carder got 303 votes. ONU Resumes Normal Operations After Tuesday’s Bomb Threat

There were some anxious moments on the campus of Ohio Northern University in Ada Tuesday. At around 2:25 Tuesday afternoon, a bomb threat was received and the campus was evacuated, and students were sheltered at Ada High School. Hardin County Sheriff Keith Everhart joined fellow community leaders in addressing those attending the Hardin County Chamber and Business Alliance Legislative Breakfast this (Friday) morning. The Sheriff presented updates on numerous initiatives and ongoing projects, as well as challenges facing the Office. Cano to Become Next Bath Schools Superintendent

The Bath Local Schools Board of Education announced that Andrew Cano will be appointed as the district’s next superintendent. The hiring is expected to be made official at a special meeting on Monday April 27. The former Hardin Northern superintendent will succeed Mike Estes, who will be retiring on July 31.
