Ada Man Killed in Workplace Accident at Ford Plant in Lima

An Ada man was killed as a result of a workplace accident at Ford Motor Company in Lima.

According to a release from the Allen County Sheriff’s Office, deputies from the Allen County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to the Lima Engine Plant Wednesday evening.

Upon arrival, they found that the victim, Patrick Archer, was injured by mechanical equipment while working inside the facility and died at the scene. 

The Allen County Sheriff’s Office Detective Bureau and the Allen County Coroner’s Office responded to the facility. 

No foul play is suspected, but the case remains under investigation. 

Chaplains are at the plant today for grief counseling.

UAW Local 1219 Building Chairman Ray Lopinski stated that they will do everything needed to understand the incident and to ensure the proper corrective actions are taken.
