Allen Foundation Announced the Awarding of $130,000 in Scholarships

The R.E. & Joan S. Allen Foundation announced the awarding of $130,000 in scholarships to 84 students for the 2023-24 school year.

In May 2023, the Foundation awarded 37 first year scholarships worth $60,000 to graduates. They now announce the awarding of $70,000 of renewal scholarships to 47 students for their continued success.

18 sophomores received a total of $27,000:

Kyle Allman, Chole Anderson, Lauren Bartlett, Britton Bell, Asher Bridenstine, Grace Collins, Devan Dulin, Andrew Fox, Augustin Forester, Taylor Harshfield, Helen Huang, Lilly James, Jarrett Jolliff, Chelsea Kalb, Noah Ketcham, Samantha Lowe, Katelyn Sturgeon and Trenton Yoder.

$33,500 was split between 22 juniors:

Claire Bailey, Jay Baum, Meredith Bischoff, Lauren Case, Allison Cummins, Carley Dearing, Jed Fulton, Grace Hattery, Kaitlin Heberling, Mary Heilman, Blaine Hutson, Brady Klesmit, Lenore Kohl, Kierra Krohmer, Erin Lyons, Alyssa McLaughlin, Lily Osborn, Owen Styer, Garrett Thomas, Samantha Unger, Callie Wright and Keegan Wright.

6 seniors received a total of $9000:

Baillie Clark, Luke Fackler, Trey Jeffries, Chesney Moore, Landon Rush and Aubrey Thrush.

The Allen Foundation in 33 years of operation has awarded $3,150,150 in scholarships to 1616 different individuals and awarded 708 multiyear awards ranging from $250 to $12,000 per person.

R.E. Allen, who died at age 98 in 2019, always commented, “It is my desire that these scholarships will enable recipients to become self-reliant, skillful and successful members of our community.”

March 15, 2024 is the next deadline for graduating seniors to apply.
