It’s the highlight of the year for many students, both new and returning at the University of Northwestern Ohio – Welcome Week.

Welcome Week is in its 8th year and this year’s events promise to be bigger and better than ever.

Events start on Sunday, September 15th as fall quarter students wrap up their move-in weekend and culminates on Thursday, September 19th with a mind reader and hypnotist show under the stars.

Welcome Week is designed as a way to introduce new students to campus and bring them together with upperclassmen so they can make new friends and socialize outside of the classroom.

Faculty and Staff assist with the planning of events so there are even opportunities for students to see their instructors or administrators in a more casual setting.

Events are open to UNOH Students only and are as follows:

.Sunday, September 15 – Live music and free dinner at Racers Station from 5:00pm – 11:00pm. This event will kick start welcome week as students see what amenities are offered at Racers Station for students to use throughout their time on campus.

.Monday, September 16 – Monday is full of tournaments and movies with a Video Game Tournament sponsored by Barry Electronics at 2pm followed by a Ping Pong Tournament and ending with an Outdoor Movie. All events are at Racers Station and free lunch and dinner are provided.

.Tuesday, September 17 – The week kicks into high gear with Tuesday’s events taking place near the Tennis Courts on the west end of the UNOH Campus. There will be a UNOH Ride show featuring student cars and trucks along with fitness demonstrations and games at the Calisthenics Park, and department expo so students can learn more about what departments are available to assist them on campus. Then a mud volleyball tournament starts at 4pm and the night ends with a foam party and bonfires at Racers Station.

.Wednesday, September 18 – By far the biggest day of the week is Wild Wednesday with a club fair, carnival games, and free concert. Student clubs and area vendors are on display behind Barnes & Noble @ UNOH so that new and returning students have a chance to sign up with new organizations. There is also a carnival this afternoon with inflatable games, funnel cakes, fair fries, and free giveaways. The night ends with free dinner, a hot dog eating contest, and live music from Redfeather and Nashville Crush.

.Thursday, September 19 – Thursday caps off the week’s events with a Parking Lot Party in the overflow lot near the tennis courts to help all the new students meet each other, talk with Racer Leaders and play various outdoor games such as mattress races, whiffle ball, and more. The day ends at with free dinner and a mind reader, hypnotist, and magic show under the tent behind Barnes & Noble.
