Archery season for hunters in this area will once again get a jump start over the rest of the state.
Wildlife Officer Ryan Kennedy said the early start is due to Chronic Wasting Disease, “September 9 will mark the start of Archery Season for Hardin, Marion and Wyandot Counties, and those three counties are in our Disease Surveillance Area with respect to the Chronic Wasting Disease.”
That is a full three weeks prior to the start of the season for the rest of the state on September 30.
