Arson Task Force Investigating Fire That Destroyed Vacant House

A vacant house was totally destroyed by fire Sunday night in Kenton.

According to information from the Kenton Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched just before 9 last night to 216 West Walnut Street, which is owned by Brian Berry, of Mt. Victory.

 

Upon arrival, there was heavy fire and smoke coming from the first and second floors.

 

The loss was put at $35,000 for the house and its contents.

 

The cause has not yet been determined and is being investigated by the Hardin County Arson Task Force.

 

Mutual assistance was provided by fire departments from Belle Center, Mt. Victory, Ridgeway and Forest.

 

There were no injuries, and firefighters were on the scene until around 2:30 this morning.
