Mary Lou Johnson-Hardin County District Library is hosting a Memorial Day Flag Coloring Contest.  Coloring pages can be picked up at the library.   Voting will be May 20th-23rd.  Winners will be announced at their Summer Reading Program signup on May 24th.   Mary Lou Johnson-Hardin County District Library is located at 325 E. Upper Scioto Valley Schools 7th and 8th Grade Band and Choir Spring Concert is on Tuesday, May 7th at 6:30 PM in the cafeteria. The doors will open for concert attendees at 6:00 PM. The 2024 Hardin County Fair Book has been finalized.  It is available in digital form now on the Hardin County Fair website. It has been submitted to the printer, however print books will have limited copies. Only rules and the open-class section will be available in print. The OSU Extension Office is coordinating a broiler chick purchase for 4-H and FFA members carrying the Broiler/Market Chicken Project. The second annual Frankie Castle Memorial Tournament will be held starting Friday, May 24th at the Alger Park. The Home Run Derby will start at 5pm on May 24th. The Men's softball tournament starts at 8am, May 25th and a Cornhole Tournament starts at 11am that morning. Kids bounce houses will be set up, and you can cheer on the Alger and Roundhead T-Ball teams during the event.

The date for the May meeting of the Hardin Northern Board of Education has been changed. The meeting was scheduled to be held on May 14th, but it has been postponed. The new meeting date will be Thursday May 23rd. It will start at 7pm that evening at the school.

Less than a week after money was found in a movie theater in Marysville, a sum of money was found at a fast food restaurant in that city.
