Traffic Fatalities Decrease in 2018

(Findlay) – The Ohio State Highway Patrol is reporting a nine percent decrease in traffic fatalities last year according to provisional statistics. In 2018, 1,071 people lost their lives on Ohio’s roads as compared to 1,179 in 2017. Unbelted traffic fatalities declined by 10 percent. In 2018, 419 people died in crashes when safety belts were available but not in use. KMS Wrestlers Compete in Weekend Tournament

Kenton Middle School wrestlers competed in their last regular season tournament over the weekend at Elida field house. Kenton placed twelfth out of twenty teams with a score of 60 points. Top finishers for Kenton were Anthony Hunt, Kade Smith, Ethan Blankenship and Gavin Manns. Counterfeit Money Used at Kenton Business

A counterfeit bill was used at Porterhouse on West Lima Street over the weekend.   According to the report, upon arrival, officers were shown a suspected counterfeit $5 bill by an employee.   The bill was determined to be counterfeit and was confiscated to be turned over to the Secret Service.   The woman who used the bill at the store is not suspected of being the one who manufactured it and is not a suspect, but is considered to […]

Fire Damages Barn in Wyandot County

A chimney fire occurred at a residence in Wyandot County Sunday evening.   Firefighters from the Sycamore Fire Department were dispatched to the 1300 block of County Highway 30 where the fire was located in a barn on the property.   According to the Wyandot County Sheriff's Office report, the resident, Richard F.
