Private family services for Barbara Joan Dyer will be held at Grove Cemetery. The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton is assisting the family with arrangements.

She died on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born on January 13, 1931 in LaRue to the late Donald and Dorothy (Carder) Draper. She married Carey Watson Latham on March 19, 1949 and he preceded her in death. She then married Darrel Dyer on January 19, 1974 and he also preceded her in death.

Surviving are her children; Karen Harp of Kenton, Kyle (Julie) Latham of Steamboat Springs, CO, Kathy (George) Bost of Hampton, VA, Barbara Kristine (Steven) Blackburn of Wapakoneta, Grandchildren; Matthew (Lori) Harp of Tiffin, Sarah (Gary) Robinson of Mt. Victory, Tim (Teresa) Latham of Draper, Utah, Amanda Harp of Kenton, Julie (Brian) Kibler of Denver, Chelsea (Ben) Goodwin of Indianapolis, Kaitlin (Brendan) Mikula of Dayton, 10 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter; Kimberly Latham, son-in-law; David L. Harp, and brother; Richard Draper.

Barbara attended school at Hepburn, Mt. Victory and Dola but graduated from Kenton High in the class of 1948.

She was employed at The North Electric Company, the Kenton Landmark and retired from the Ohio Department of Transportation in Lima.

Barbara is a former member of the Hepburn United Methodist Church, where she was active in the Ladies Aid Society and the Vacation Bible School. She was also a member of the First Christian Church and often volunteered at the lima Senior Citizens Center.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ohio Library for the Blind & Physically Disabled, 17121 Lakeshore Blvd, Cleveland, OH 44110, or the Putnam County Hospice.
