A Bellefontaine man pleaded guilty in a case involving the death of a Lakeview woman.

WPKO Radio reported that 36 year old Darrel Davis pleaded guilty to reckless homicide on Thursday.

Charges of involuntary manslaughter and felonious assault were dropped in exchange for the plea.

The case dates back to June of 2018 and involved the death of 23 year old Kierstin Johnson, who was found unresponsive at a residence in Bellefontaine.

An autopsy revealed that she died due to choking during sexual activity.

Davis is a registered sex offender and was on five years post release control after serving a three year prison sentence in 2014.

He faces a maximum 3 years in prison when he’s sentenced on April 2.
