of Kenton

 

 

Funeral services for Bertha L. Thomas will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at The Price-McElroy Funeral Home in Kenton with Pastor David Robertson officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Cemetery. Friends and family may visit from 4:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M on Monday, September 14, 2020 at the funeral home.

Bertha passed away at 9:00 P.M. on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Hardin Hills. She was born on June 9, 1939 in Waylon, Kentucky to the late Herbert and Lou Emma (Perry) Robinson. She married John Thomas on August 22, 1958 and he preceded her in death on July 4, 1999.

Surviving are a daughter; Kimberly (Tom) Meador of Findlay, sons; John (Becky) Thomas of Kenton, Todd Thomas of Kenton, Timothy (Lori) Thomas of Lima, six grandchildren; Heather, Tiffany, Christine, Beki, Cody, Kaylee, 2 great-grandchildren, Brandon Hooe, Boone Franks, 4 step-grandchildren; Bill, Heather, Cody, Dakota, six step-great-grandchildren; Payton, Reagan, Joslynn, Emmit, Twylah, Rowan, a brother; Clifford (Cheryl) Robinson, 3 sister-in-laws; Ruth Robinson, Judy Brown, Betty Brown, and a brother-in-law; Russ Cooper

She was preceded in death by a sister; Betty Cooper and a brother; Herb Robinson.

Bert, as she liked to be called, was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Kenton, the Kenton Moose and the Kenton Eagles.

She worked as an activities director for Hardin Hills but her main career was a homemaker. She loved to cook and garden which she passed on to her children and grandchildren. She also enjoyed canning the vegetables that she grew, and won many awards at the Hardin County Fair for her canning.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Faith Baptist Church in Kenton or to Bridge Hospice.
