BLUFFTON, Ohio—Heidi Mercer, assistant professor of social work at Bluffton University, will present the Colloquium, ” Preventive Self-Care: How to live your best life in the field of social work,” at 4 p.m. on March 20 in Stutzman Lecture Hall.

In her presentation, the avid proponent of self-care will dispel myths about self-care, give some data on what is happening within the field of social work, discuss signs and symptoms of compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma, and give some coping mechanisms for self-compassion and care.

“Whether you are a social worker or not, self-care is for you,” Mercer said.

This event is free and open to the public.
