A gruesome discovery was made by workers in the Central Ohio village of Plain City Thursday afternoon.
According to a release from the Plain City Division of Police, workers for the village’s contracted refuse company notified police that they discovered what they believed to be a human body in their truck.
Officers responded and located the body of an infant in the rear hopper of the truck.
The infant appeared to be a full-term newborn baby.
The body was taken to the Montgomery County Medical Examiner’s Office for an autopsy that is expected to be conducted today, which may determine the preliminary cause of death.
The investigation is underway, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Plain City Division of Police.
