Complete minutes of recent meeting provided:

The Hardin County Business & Professional Women’s Club met on Wednesday, June 29, at 5:30 p.m. in order to carpool to Tony’s Restaurant & Pub at Findlay. It was Ladies’ Night Out. Five members and guest Kelsey Garmon attended the dinner and short meeting.

Following dinner, Co-Chairs Vanessa Brim and Connie Dietz presented scholarship applications for review by the members. It was decided to award $500 to Aubrey Thrush, a junior in Special Education at Mount Vernon Nazarene University. Her parents are Susan and Chad Thrush of Kenton. Another $250 scholarship was awarded to Abigail Gerding, a junior in Early Education at Ohio Northern University. Her parents are Kim and Roger Gerding of Ada. Brim will arrange a meeting of the awardees upon the return from their vacations.

BPW Pres. Sandy Moore presided over a short meeting next. Sec. Norma Frederick had her May 18 minutes sent digitally to everyone. It was accepted. Treas. Connie Dietz had her report filed for audit. The amounts for the scholarships were officially motioned and seconded. Patty Garmon had no new report about the Sunshine Fund. She requested the needed information from the members so she could send cards as needed. Cards for Charlotte Spencer can now be sent to Ada’s Vancrest.

BPW’s Director Sandy Moore of the Helen Mabrey Shoe Fund gave a short report about free shoes that are provided to needy students in Hardin County for Kindergarten through Grade 12. She paid for a very late billing of 2 pairs of shoes from 11/30/21 as Shoe Sensation’s billing has been slow during the pandemic. She also paid $50 to Ohio State AGO for trust fees. It is a tax exempt account. There were no donations. Her accounts for savings, checking, and the CD agree with the banks.

Pres. Moore asked for volunteers to be hostesses for the next two meetings. Norma Frederick volunteered to hostess on Wednesday, September 28, at the Royal Buffet at 5:30 p.m. in Kenton. Carol Steegman will speak about her new position at the Kenton Chamber of Commerce. Patty Garmon volunteered to hostess on October 26.

Having no other business, the meeting was adjourned. All were wished a nice summer and safe travels.
