BPW Conducts Ladies Night Out Dinner Meeting

On June 12, six members of Hardin County Business and Professional Women’s Club gathered in the parking lot of Liberty National Bank to carpool for Ladies Night Out. The group met at Tony’s Restaurant in Findlay for a delicious dinner at 6 p.m.

President Sandy Moore conducted a short meeting after dinner. Sec. Norma Frederick had her report accepted as digitally sent. Treas. Connie Dietz had her report filed for audit. Sunshine Fund Chr. Charlotte Spencer sent a report that the fund was the same.

A long discussion followed concerning selection of scholarship winners. It was decided to award two scholarships. The first award was $500 for Robert High Terrill IV. He is attending the University of Findlay and is a junior English Education major. He is the son of Regina and Mike Comstock of Kenton. The second award was $350 for Ashley Breidenbach. She is attending OSU Lima and is a junior Middle Childhood Education major. She is the daughter of Tracy and Travis Breidenbach of Forest. Vanessa Brim will notify all applicants of the decisions and make arrangements for a photo for the media.

Pres. Moore asked for volunteers for chairing the meetings for 2019-2020. They are as follows: September 25 is Vanessa Brim; October 23 is Sandy Moore; December will be arranged by Norma Frederick with holiday show; no meeting in January and February; March 25 is Connie Dietz; April 22 is Charlotte Spencer; May 27 is Cindy Keller and Patty Garmon; and June will be decided later for Ladies Night Out. A reminder was stated that dues of $36 can be paid to Treas. Dietz. A request for cards for Jessica Osborn was made.

Director Sandy Moore of the Helen Mabrey Shoe Fund reported that she did not receive bills to purchase any shoes from Shoe Sensation in Kenton in June. She did accept a donation from the Tender Loving Care Mother’s Club for which she sent a thank you. All balances agree with the banks. Applications for one free pair of shoes a year for Kindergarten through Grade 12 of Hardin County needy students can be found at Helping Hands or write to Helen Mabrey Shoe Fund, PO Box 505, Kenton, OH 43326 to ask for an application.

Having no other business, the meeting was adjourned. All were wished a safe and happy summer.
