The Hardin County Sheriff’s Office announced that the annual “Shop with a Cop” program will be on December 14 this year.
The program was started by the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office but has since expanded to include all law enforcement agencies in Hardin County.
The mission is to brighten the holiday season for the children and families who are in need.
Knowing that the holiday season can cause a financial burden, they do their part to bring back holiday magic.
Each child that participates is paired with an officer to go shopping at the local Wal-Mart.
The shopping event is financed through some very generous donations from local businesses, organizations, and individuals throughout the community.
To donate to Shop with a Cop, make checks payable to Hardin County Sheriff’s Office with “Shop with a Cop” in the memo and send to Hardin County Sheriff’s Office, Attention Det. Henderson, 1025 South Main Street in Kenton.
To sign up a child for the program, complete the application form and place it in the box located in the lobby of the sheriff’s office.
Unfortunately, there is limited space so there is a selection process for the program.
