A woman from Carey was victimized out of nearly $7000 in a scam that was reported to the Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office this week.

According to the report, the woman received a call from a person who identified themselves as Albert Miller, who told her her vehicle was found in Texas with narcotics inside and she was going to be arrested.

The scammer told her she must go to her bank and take out all her money and then by Ebay cards to resolve the issue.

The victim complied and spent over $4300 out of her bank accounts and another $2600 on her credit cards to purchase the Ebay cards.

The victim’s daughter told deputies that she was going to take measures to insure that her mother is not scammed like this again.
