Castle Convicted on All 16 Counts

Charles Castle has been found guilty on all 16 counts.

The jury returned the verdict this afternoon after deliberating for around 8 hours since Monday afternoon.

Castle was convicted on seven counts of kidnapping, one count of rape, one count of attempted murder, one count of felonious assault, one count of breaking and entering, one count of endangering children, one count of burglary and three counts of tampering with evidence.

The case dates back to November of 2021 when the then 7 year old girl was kidnapped from her home on South Leighton Street, and was eventually taken to an abandoned home on County Road 180 where she was found in the very cold and filthy basement two nights later.

The injuries the girl suffered were said to be permanent.

Castle will be sentenced on Tuesday July 26 in Hardin County Common Pleas Court.

He has been held at the Multi County Jail in Marion since his arrest shortly after the kidnapping occurred.
