The Hardin County Board of Elections will meet Tuesday, May 3 at 6:30 a.m. in their office in the courthouse for election day. In addition, the board will conduct their regular meeting, review the auditor’s report, approve the minutes of the April 14 meeting and approve bills. This meeting will replace the May 12 regular meeting.
A Kenton man was arrested in connection to a stolen vehicle incident Monday afternoon. According to the Kenton Police Department report, a vehicle was reported stolen just before 2:30 Monday afternoon. Officers recovered the vehicle and arrested 50 year old Ray Cline Junior. He is being held in the Multi County Jail in Marion on charges of receiving stolen property and possession of drugs.
Ohio Governor Mike DeWine awarded more than $60 million in funding to help local communities clean up dozens of contaminated properties to make way for future economic development. Kenton City Council met for their 8th regular session Monday evening. During the proceedings Public Safety Director Cindy Murray once again asked the community to keep their grass clippings out of the road as it can cause sewer drainage issues. Later in the meeting Ordinance no. 22-009 was proposed. If passed the ordinance would change the fee for not mowing a commercial lot from $150 to $300.
