Some big names in sports sent video messages of support for a 16 year old Cory-Rawson student who has undergone two brain surgeries this month.
Connor Sons was diagnosed with a rare brain tumor in late December.
While the tumor is benign, it had to be removed or it could cause blindness and other major issues.
The first surgery at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus took place on January 3rd, but after 3 hours, doctors realized they were unable to remove any of the tumor without causing catastrophic damage to his vision.
Doctors decided to go another route, and 5 days later, they went through his nose and this time were able to get up to 90% of the tumor.
The rest will need to be removed by radiation, and that will take place 5 days a week for 6 weeks.
Word of Connor’s journey made it to social media when the family posted asking for prayers and videos of support.
To their surprise, some big names responded.
Videos were received from:
Dick LeBeau
Brett Favre
Jim Tressel
Urban Meyer
Eddie George
Marvin Harrison, Jr.
TreVeyon Henderson
JD Bergman
Kurt Angle
Kyle Snyder
Bobby Carpenter
Emeka Egbuka
Chris Speilman
Aaron Craft
The whole University of Findlay football team
Heidelberg University football players
And the list goes on.
The responses helped put a smile on Connor’s face, and the family appreciates the continued support.
