COLUMBUS – State Rep. Jon Cross (R-Kenton) today announced Hancock and Hardin counties have secured state funding to assist local water infrastructure projects, as well as a workforce development project.
Findlay in Hancock County will receive $25,000 in H2Ohio funding for planning and engineering design for centralized sewage treatment for the Eagle Creek 4 area. The current wastewater treatment plan (WWTP) serving the Eagle Creek subdivision is in disrepair and failing, thus discharging inadequately treated sewage to Eagle Creek. Under the new plan, residents of the subdivision will have their wastewater treated by the city of Findlay.
The Hardin County Water Quality Pilot Program at Shallow Run is also set to receive $4 million in H2Ohio funding as part of the state budget package that was recently signed into law.
In addition, Cross secured $2 million in the state budget for the Owens Community College, University of Findlay, BGSU Center for Advanced Manufacturing and Logistics at the Owens Community College Findlay Campus.
“I’m pleased to champion the 83rd district in obtaining these necessary funds for projects that will increase the quality of life for those in our community,” said Cross. “Whether if it’s ensuring reliable access to clean water or investing in Ohio’s workforce, these projects will keep our region safer, stronger, and open for business.”
