Dayton Murder Suspect Arrested After 3 County Pursuit

A homicide suspect from Dayton was arrested after a three county pursuit that started in Allen County late Wednesday morning.

According to a release, an Allen County Sheriff’s deputy  located and attempted to stop the suspect, who immediately fled in his vehicle. 

The pursuit lasted approximately an hour and traveled through 3 counties.

It ended on a county road in Shelby County. 

The suspect, identified as 47 year old Jeremy H. Van Voorhis, stopped his vehicle and surrendered. 

He was arrested without incident and was transported to the Allen County Jail.

This morning at approximately 11:00am the West Central Ohio Crime Task Force and the Allen County Sheriff’s Office were assisting Dayton Police Department in an attempt to detain homicide suspect, Jeremy Heath Van Voorhis (DOB 1/13/1975) from the Dayton area. When the suspect was located deputies attempted to stop him, which the suspect immediately fled in his vehicle.

The pursuit lasted approximately an hour and traversed 3 counties, ending in Shelby County on a country road. The suspect ultimately stopped his vehicle and surrendered. He was taken into custody without incident then transported to the Allen County Jail and charged with failure to comply.
