Ohio Governor Mike DeWine toured the Indian Lake area this (Tuesday) morning to get an update on the clean up process after the area was struck by tornadoes on March 14th.

The governor has initiated several federal and state disaster aid mechanisms, including his request to President Biden for a major disaster declaration, that could bring financial relief to Ohioans affected by the severe weather incidents.

Representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency informed the Governor that a decision took a long time, and there is no guarantee the President will issue a disaster declaration.

In the meantime, Governor DeWine stated that he has been working with leaders of the legislature to come up with a plan to provide aid for victims, “They are very, very interested and want to be of help, so this is going to be a combined effort between the Governor’s Office and the Senate and the House of Representatives. We are all working together now to come up with a plan that we hope to be able to announce in the near future.”
