Different Colors on Fire Hydrants Explained

The City of Kenton Government Facebook page explained difference of colors found on fire hydrants throughout the city.

Hydrants with a red bonnet are Class C and produce 499 gallons of water a minute or less.

Orange is for Class B with 500-999 gpm.

Green is Class A producing 1000-1499 gpm.

Light Blue hydrants are Class AA and will produce 1500 gallons per minute or more.
