CLEVELAND, May 8 — Dominion Energy Ohio customers still have time to tap into the EnergyShare® 2022-2023 winter heating assistance program. Funds are available to eligible families until May 31 or until funds run out.

If customers have unpaid balances, they should contact the local Salvation Army offices for an application. Applicants do not need to register with the HEAP office first. The EnergyShare program helps families who are experiencing financial hardships through unemployment or family crisis. EnergyShare pays energy bills when customers have exhausted all other forms of assistance.

To qualify for a one-time EnergyShare assistance payment, a person must live in the Dominion Energy service area, be a Dominion Energy customer, and must have:

• A demonstrated need for assistance;
• Received a shutoff notice or the service has already been disconnected; and
• Applicants aged 60 or older DO NOT have to have a disconnection notice to seek assistance but MUST demonstrate need for assistance

Dominion Energy works with the Salvation Army offices to accept EnergyShare applications and to administer distribution of the funds. Dominion Energy covers the programs administrative costs, so every dollar contributed to this fund goes to pay recipients’ heating bills. The program runs through May 31, 2023, or until funds are exhausted.

EnergyShare is supported by donations from Dominion Energy customers, employees and EnergyShare partners.

How to Contribute: Simply add $1, $2, $6, $12, $18, or $36 to the amount due on your bill. Overpayments in these exact amounts are automatically recognized as a contribution and will be documented on your next bill. Or mail a check for any amount (made payable to “EnergyShare”) to EnergyShare, The Salvation Army, and P.O. Box 5847, Cleveland, OH 44101.

EnergyShare is in its 22nd year in Ohio and has raised more than $8.5 million, helping more 92,000 people in its first 21 years in the state. During the 2021-22 heating season, more than 2,500 people received EnergyShare assistance.
