Driver Cited After Leaving the Scene of an Accident in Marion

A driver in Marion was cited for several offenses after an accident in that city Wednesday night.

According to the report from the Marion Police Department, Austin Canterbury, age 21, was traveling west on East center Street when he drove off the left of the road.

The car went onto the sidewalk and struck a concrete fence.

Canterbury left the scene, but the vehicle was later found at the intersection of Delaware Avenue and Vernon Heights Blvd.

Canterbury was cited for a reasonable control violation, leaving the scene of an accident and for OVI refusal.

Moderate damage occurred to the car, but the driver was not injured.
