Driver Injured in Two-Car Crash in Van Wert

Ohio State Highway Patrol Troopers responded to an injury crash on US 224 in Van Wert Thursday morning.

According to a release, the two-vehicle accident left one driver with critical injuries after his truck was hit by a semi traveling north.

The injured driver was life-flighted to a Fort Wayne Hospital. Two passengers in the vehicle were also injured and transported by helicopter to a Fort Wayne Hospital for serious injuries.

The crash investigation closed US 224 and Lincoln Highway for two hours. The Van Wert County Sheriff’s Office, Van Wert Police Department, Van Wert Fire Department, and Van Wert EMS assisted Troopers on the scene.
