Earl Thomas 81 of Kenton

2020. Earl Thomas age 81 of Kenton, died at his residence on June 9, 2020. He was born Feb. 7.1939 in Marseilles to the late Leslie and Lois (Buckingham) Thomas. On Dec. 2, 1960 he married Arkada Patchett and she survives along with a daughter Lynn (Glen) Baughman, a son Brian (Becky) Thomas both of Kenton, grandchildren Sarah Thomas, Garrett Thomas, Chad (Missy) Baughman, Shane (Marie) Baughman, great grandchildren Mason, Marissa, Easton and Harriston Baughman. He is preceded in death by brothers Carl Thomas and Ralph Thomas, sisters Elsie Brewer, Anna May Johnson and Nina Shumate.

He was a 1957 graduate of Marseilles High School.  Mr. Thomas was owner/operator of Thomas Drainage and Excavating. He did excavating, tiling, stone hauling and was a farmer. He sold seed corn Trojan, Pfizer Genetics and had previously worked at Whirlpool, Marion.

Mr. Thomas was a 66 year member with Ohio State Grange of Painter Creek, and a Farm Bureau member. He was a member of the Hardin County Pork Producers, and Marseilles Volunteer Fire Department.  Mr. Thomas was a Land of Goshen 4-H and Tractor 4-H adviser.  His favorite sports teams were The Ohio State Buckeyes and Dallas Cowboys.  He loved to watch his grandchildren and share their successes with others. Mr. Thomas will be remembered as a faithful sole caregiver of his wife for 18 years.
