Early Morning Crash Claims the Life of Harrod Man

A Harrod man was killed in a two vehicle crash that occurred around 6:30 this (Friday) morning at the intersection of State Routes 67 and 235.

 

According to release from Hardin County Sheriff Keith Everhart, Charles Smith Jr. drove from a stop sign on 235 onto 67, and his car was struck by a westbound vehicle being operated by Jade Zartman, of Belle Center.

 

Smith was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

Zartman and a passenger in her vehicle were treated at the scene for minor injuries.

 

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Roundhead Fire and Richland Township Fire Departments, USV Roundhead and USV Alger EMS, Hardin County Coroner’s Office and Minich’s Towing.
