A lot of work and preparation has gone into planning for this day, and it is finally here…Eclipse Day.

Hardin County is in a line of totality for the eclipse.

Hardin County Astronomy Club Secretary David Humphries takes us through the timeline in Kenton this afternoon, “The partial eclipse at 1:55:28 for Kenton, so that’s 28 seconds after 1:55, and that’s when the partial eclipse starts. The totality starts at 3:10 and 23 seconds for Kenton, and totality ends at 3:14:18, and then the partial eclipse ends at 4:26:34.”

Some advice when driving today is to keep your headlights on while driving, even in the daylight.

It should be common sense, but do not wear eclipse glasses while driving.

Find a safe, designated space to park before the eclipse, and do not stop in the middle of the road or on a road shoulder.
