Emogene Ladd age 87 of Wharton, died Oct. 12, 2020 at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on June 5, 1933 in Kingsport, TN to the late Richard and Ethel (Adkins) Riggs.
On June 5, 1976 she married Dale Ladd at Beech Grove Wesleyan Church, he survives in Wharton. Also surviving is a son Butch (Patsy) Osborne and a daughter Betty Burton, both of Spring Hill, TN, 5 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, siblings Wayne Riggs, Rockport, IN, Edna (Edd) Crumley, Jonesville, VA, Richard (Sharon) Riggs, Tacoma, VA, Norma (Bobby) Love, Coeburn, VA, Mike (Tootie) Riggs, Castlewood, VA, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
She was raised in St. Charles, VA and Coeburn, VA. Mrs. Ladd was a member of Wharton First Church of God where she was an assistant Sunday School teacher and Deaconess. Mrs. Ladd had been a nurses assistant at Wyandot Memorial Hospital and Wyandot Manor Nursing home, Upper Sandusky. Her favorite things were to sing, read her Bible and go to church.
A graveside service will be held at 10:00AM Thurs. Oct. 15, 2020 at Wharton Richland Union Cemetery. A memorial service will follow at 10:30AM in the Wharton First Church of God with Pastor David Odegard officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Wyandot County or Wyandot Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in care of Clark Shields Funeral Home 301 S. Patterson St. Forest, OH 45843.
