Hardin County Sheriff Keith Everhart stated that this time of the year is always met with an uptick in crime.
He said criminals are looking for easy targets knowing more items are being purchased during the Holiday Season.
Some of the advice he offers to cut down on being the victim of a crime starts with being neighborly, “Have your neighbors keep an eye on your house. If you’re going away for a day or two especially this time of the year. I recommend that all year round, but especially this time of year have your neighbors keep an eye on things because there are literally people just driving around looking for an easy score, so don’t make it easy on them.”
