The home of State Representative Jon Cross was totally destroyed by a fire this past Saturday night.
According to information from the Kenton Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched to the home in the 16,000 block of Maureen Drive at just before 9:30 Saturday night where they found the house fully engulfed in flames.
Cross, his wife and two young sons and their pet dog made it out of the house safely.
It is believed the fire started in the garage and quickly spread.
The home and its contents were listed as a total loss.
The State Fire Marshal’s Office was called to determine the cause, which is standard practice.
Mutual assistance was provided by BKP EMS, Forest EMS and fire departments from Dunkirk, Forest, McGuffey, Mt. Victory, Ridgeway and Union County.
Firefighters were on the scene for nearly 6 hours.
There were no injuries.
