Flags at Half-Staff Until Sunset Today in Honor of Late Congressman

Flags were ordered to be lowered to half-staff across the country on Tuesday.

President Biden issued the order to honor the life and service of Congressman Alcee Hastings, who died Tuesday at the age of 84.

Hastings was a civil rights activist and the longest serving member of Florida’s congressional delegation.

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine ordered that all flags of the United States and the State of Ohio be lowered to half-staff until sunset this evening.
