The University of Findlay Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble will join forces on Sunday, Dec. 8 at 3 p.m. for their annual Christmas concert at Marathon Center for the Performing Arts.

This year’s theme will be “Home for the Holidays.”

No tickets will be required and admission will be free.

Under the direction of Jack Taylor, professor of music, the bands will perform a variety of traditional American Christmas music, including “Symphonic Highlights from Frozen,” “Grown Up Christmas List,” “A Fireside Christmas” and more.

Sarah Kepple, senior flutist, UF pharmacy major and winner of the 2019-20 Instrumental Music Concert Concerto Competition, will be the featured soloist. She has studied flute for the past four years with Desra Dabney and has presented recital performances each semester since her enrollment in fall 2016. The Canton native is the winner of the Marilyn Klingler Award, the Roberta Stober Endowed Scholarship, the Jack and Patricia Taylor Endowed Scholarship, and the John and Marion Van Nice Endowed Scholarship. She has also been awarded the Findlay Civic Band Endowed Scholarship and will appear as a soloist with that group in summer 2020.

Kepple will continue her pharmacy studies for the next two years. After she earns her Doctor of Pharmacy degree, she is hoping to pursue a residency in either intensive care or emergency pharmacy.
