Forest Couple Killed in Hancock County Crash Friday Afternoon

A Forest couple was killed in a crash in Hancock County Friday afternoon.

WFIN Radio reported that a car being operated by 88 year old Clarence Hensel was traveling south on County Road 193, and the driver failed to yield to an eastbound vehicle on State Route 15 causing a collision.

Hensel was taken by helicopter to an undisclosed hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

A passenger in his car, his 89 year old wife Melba, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle on State Route 15 was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation by the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.
