In anticipation of the snow, the Fire and Maintenance Department in Forest spent several hours over the weekend to push back snow piles on village streets.

Mayor Dean Hankins stated that in doing the needed preparation work, some sod in the village right of way was displaced.

The mayor apologized for the inconvenience, but said that in order to maintain traffic flow and access for emergency vehicles, the additional space was needed.

Mayor Hankins also reminded residents that if more than two inches of snow falls, you should refrain from street side parking to ensure expedient and safe clearing of the streets.
