Four Vehicle Crash in Lima Injures Four People

A four vehicle crash in Lima Tuesday afternoon injured four people, one critically.

According to a release from the Lima Post of the Ohio State Patrol, a vehicle driven by 58 year old Eric E. Fritz, of Delphos, was westbound on Elm Street at Eastown Road and struck the rear of vehicle being operated by 54 year old John A. Guagenti, of Elida.

That car was pushed into the third vehicle being operated by 33 year old Sarah L. Carder, of Delphos.

Her vehicle was pushed across the center line and struck an eastbound vehicle being driven by 44 year old Kelly D. Wurm, of Lima.

Guagenti was transported to St. Rita’s Medical Center with critical injuries.

Fritz and Carder were taken to St. Rita’s with non-life threatening injuries.

Wurm was treated at the scene for minor injuries. A passenger in her car was not injured.

Assisting troopers on scene were American Township EMS, the Allen County Sheriff’s Office, the American Township Police Department, Lima City Prosecutor’s Office, Kenny’s Auto Wrecking, Army’s Towing and Big Daddy’s Towing.

Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash. All parties were reportedly wearing seat belts. The crash remains under investigation.

The State Patrol reminds motorists to never drive under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
