Gov. DeWine Announces Several Appointments on Friday

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine has made the following appointments on Friday March 19, 2021.

In our region:

.Alexis M. Siomka of Findlay (Hancock Co.) has been appointed to the Ohio Livestock Care Standards Board for a term beginning March 19, 2021, and ending January 15, 2024.

The Ohio Livestock Care Standards Board was created to obtain public input and recommend guidelines for the Ohio Department of Agriculture to adopt as rules under the authority of the Director of Agriculture and State Veterinarian.

Rules affecting the care of dairy, beef, swine, turkeys, broilers, sheep, goats, alpacas, llamas, and equine standards went into effect on September 29, 2011.

.Leslie Prater of Ridgeway (Logan Co.) has been reappointed to the Ohio AMBER Alert Advisory Committee for a term beginning March 19, 2021, and ending February 6, 2023.

The Ohio AMBER Alert Advisory Committee and its member organizations are committed to a statewide approach to the emergency alert programs through coordination of resources, information sharing, and training. The committee is dedicated to ensuring the most timely and efficient notification to law enforcement, emergency alert partners, and the public.

Its purpose is to help increase the chance for a safe recovery of the victims of abduction or other life-threatening situations, when administering the AMBER Alert, Endangered Missing Child Alert, Endangered Missing Adult Alert, and the Ohio Blue Alert programs.
