Green Monster in Alliance’s Tourism Spotlight

Tourism Spotlight: If you like to bike, jog or walk, check out the infamous Green Monster, an emerald paved trail – 2.5 miles – that offers spectacular views of nature, the changing seasons, and an American western art on the Remington Walk. The nickname, Green Monster, originated when tired physical education students dubbed the path “a Monster of a walk.” As for the unusual green color, then-president Dr. DeBow Freed thought green looked much better than plain blacktop.
