Griffin Promoted to Assistant Football Coach at ONU

ADA — Andre Griffin has been promoted to full-time assistant football coach at Ohio Northern.

Griffin has spent the past two seasons as a part-time assistant coach at ONU. He will coach the receivers and serve as recruiting coordinator.

Prior to coming to ONU in 2020, he spent the previous five seasons as the head coach at nearby Lima Senior High School.

He also spent eight seasons as an assistant coach at Division II Saginaw Valley State (Mich.) from 2008-15 and three seasons at fellow OAC member Capital from 2005-07.

Andre Griffin grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, graduating from Shaker Heights High School. He continued his academic and athletic career, playing college football as a running back at The Ohio State University, graduating in 2002 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Sociology.

Andre is the son of Archie Griffin and Loretta Laffitte-Griffin.

He and his wife Deanna have been married for 15 years and have two sons, Dianté and Adrien.
