The Findlay•Hancock County Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation will host Hancock County Safety Council, featuring a presentation titled “Substance Use & Workplace Injuries: Impacts on Compensation & Compliance” on Thursday, December 5, from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm at the Hilton Garden Inn in Findlay.
The event costs $25 to attend.
The event will feature Richard Johnson with Eastman & Smith.
In this session, attendees will learn about positive drug or alcohol screens after a work-related injury & their potential impact on workers’ compensation claims, how a positive drug or alcohol screen can be used to defeat a workers’ compensation claim, and how termination can be used to defeat a request for temporary total disability compensation if an employee is terminated for a positive drug or alcohol screen
